SLIDING WEIGHT RIG

1. Typical 3-way swivel and slide weight set ups have problems with snagging. There are several advantages to using the SmartLink in these set-ups. One being, it is less expensive to use barrel swivels than 3-way swivels.

2. If your weight becomes snagged, the SmartLink will release it, and you will get everything else back. All you have to do is pop on another weight.

3. If your bait hook gets snagged you will get everything back as well, minus the hook.

4. When your bait is picked up by a fish, there is no resistance from the weight for the fish to feel. Once you set the hook, if your weight becomes snagged the SmartLink will release the weight.

Here is an example of the advantage: Using 10# test line, a 10# SmartLink at the hook, and a 6# SmartLink at the weight A fish is hooked and starts to run, pulling the weight with it. If the weight becomes snagged, force exerted by the angler or the fish will overcome the holding power of the 6# SmartLink, much before overcoming the holding power of the 10# SmartLink. The snagged weight will be released and the angler continues to fight the fish.

With a conventional set-up your weight would not release, therefore you would have to reel the fish back to the weight, hoping the weight would dislodge in the process. It is quite possible that with a conventional set-up, you could loose the fish at this point.


DROP SHOT RIG

1. By using a 6# SmartLink tied to the end of the line, you now can use standard bell weights instead of those expensive drop shot weights.

2. Using a 10# SmartLink tied directly to the line, at the point were you would tie on your hook, gives your bait much more fish attracting action.

3. Whenever your weight or your hook gets snagged the SmartLink will release, allowing you to retrieve your rig minus the snagged hook, or weight. This saves you rigging time and terminal tackle.
